Mbappé vents at officials after Valencia win, calls them buffoons | OneFootball

Kylian Mbappé was central to his team’s win at Valencia, sealing it with a stoppage-time goal that moved him top of the European scoring charts. His night also featured a tense exchange with the fourth official and abuse from the stands at Mestalla.

According to AS, shortly before half-time he was flagged offside after receiving the ball following a Valencia clearance. At the interval he approached the fourth official seeking an explanation, asking how it could be offside.

The official, picked up on DAZN’s cameras, said it was tight with the angles and suggested discussing it inside. Mbappé agreed to continue the conversation in the tunnel.

Once inside, he complained the official had invited a chat then would not engage. When ignored, he turned to Eduardo Camavinga and, speaking in French, referred to the referees as buffoons.

From Valencia’s singing section, insulting chants were audible towards the French forward. He did not react to the taunts and let his football answer on the pitch.
