Aston Villa clashed heads with Club Brugge at the Jan Breydel Stadium earlier this evening as they looked to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Villans made a good start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 11th minute when John McGinn found the back of the net. However, Hugo Vetlesen equalised for the home team just eight minutes later. Emiliano Buendia fired his team back up ahead in the 22nd minute. Nicolas Jackson put some daylight between the two teams in the 43rd minute as Unai Emery’s men went into the half-time break 3-1 up on the scoreline.
Nicolo Tresoldi got a goal back for Club Brugge from the penalty spot in the 61st minute. However, Aston Villa defended their slender lead well and secured a hard-fought 3-2 win away from home.
