The Independiente Medellin vs Atletico Tucuman Copa Libertadores third round match will be broadcast live online and on TV as El Rojo Paisa hosts El Deca at the Estadio Atanasio Girardot this Tuesday, February 18, at 4:30 p.m. Pacific.
Independiente Medellin defeated Venezuelan team Deportivo Tachira by an aggregate score of 4-2 in the second round of the Copa Libertadores. El Rey de Corazones fell 2-0 in the second-leg of the matchup, but won 4-0 in the first-leg at home against Tachira.
Veteran midfielder Javier Reina was the standout player for Medellin in that 4-0 win as he scored two of the four goals. El Rojo Paisa has not struggled offensively this season even with the transfer of German Cano in the offseason as Medellin needs to use its home-field advantage in this first-leg.
Atletico Tucuman has not been doing great this season in the Superliga Argentina, currently in 14th place as the Copa Libertadores campaign is a priority for Ricardo Zielinski. El Deca defeated Bolivian team The Strongest in the second round of the Copa Libertadores, but it was not easy.
The aggregate score in the matchup was 2-2 with no away goals for either side as Tucuman defeated The Strongest in a penalty shootout. The Argentine team can struggle offensively at times as it has been shutout in three of its last four games in all competitions and this will be a big test away from home.
FutnSoccer predicts a 2-1 win for Independiente Medellin as the Colombian side will have the massive home-field advantage.
