‘Meets The Age Criteria’ – Club Try To Land Tottenham Star On Loan | OneFootball

Galatasaray have lodged a loan proposal for Tottenham Hotspur attacker Mathys Tel, who ‘meets the age criteria’ for the Turkish Football Federation’s foreign player rules for this season.

Tottenham, under Roberto De Zerbi, are poised to bring in Savinho from Manchester City in a club-record deal worth £85m.

Omar Marmoush could follow from the Etihad, with the attacker tipped to undergo his medical soon before completing his move to N17.

De Zerbi though wants even more attacking reinforcements and he has urged Tottenham to make a new bid for Cody Gakpo, which they are expected to do soon.

So many new fresh attacking faces through the door are likely to cause attacking exits from Tottenham, with Savinho, Marmoush and Gakpo all expected to command key roles in the side.

Tel has long been concerned about a lack of game time at Tottenham and could be set to fall even further down the pecking order, something Galatasaray have noticed.

The Cimbom have tracked the Frenchman this summer since June and spent time weighing up whether to make their move, with Tel standing out as an ‘advantageous option’ given his eligibility under the foreign-player rules.

Now, according to Turkish outlet Takvim, Galatasaray have submitted a loan offer to Tottenham in an attempt to bring Tel to Istanbul.

The decision now rests with Spurs, and should the Turkish giants receive the green light, they ‘will try to finalise the transfer process’ through talks with the attacker.

Whether the Yellow Reds can settle personal terms and persuade Tel to make the switch to Istanbul is still unresolved, but their willingness to move quickly could keep the talks moving after the initial approach.

If Galatasaray’s loan proposal is a straightforward arrangement or carries an option to buy within the structure is another detail yet to surface.
