Memphis Depay matches his longest goal drought in a Corinthians shirt

Corinthians striker Memphis Depay drew a blank once again against Novorizontino in Corinthians' elimination in the semifinals of the 2026 Campeonato Paulista, matching his worst goal drought while wearing the black and white jersey.

The number 10 hasn't found the back of the net for Corinthians since the match against Vasco da Gama, back in the final of the 2025 Copa do Brasil at Maracanã. Since then, the Dutchman has played in nine matches during the 2026 season and has yet to rediscover his form, even though he started in seven of those games he appeared in so far.

The situation becomes even more critical when it comes to direct goal involvements (goal or assist), with Memphis having only one goal involvement this season, providing an assist to young Kayke in the match against Capivariano in the 2026 Paulistão, in the 3-0 victory. During this period, the player has already played alongside Vitinho, Gui Negão, Yuri Alberto, and even Rodrigo Garro as attacking partners.

The worst streak had previously occurred between July and November 2025, when Memphis also went nine games without scoring, at a time when he was seeking full recovery from an injury and discomfort in his ankle and thigh that were bothering him.
