According to Globo.com, Memphis Depay is expected at CT Joaquim Grava on Wednesday for fitness tests, a day viewed as decisive for a two-year contract renewal with Corinthians.

On his return, the Dutch forward will undergo club-run evaluations and physical work, marking the second day of examinations.

It will be his first visit to the training base in a little over two months, after the World Cup and his holidays.

On Tuesday afternoon he completed hospital checks to use equipment needed for imaging and other assessments.

If he is cleared, the renewal could be signed on Wednesday, after the final contractual differences were resolved following months of back-and-forth, political pressure and conflicting versions.

The new deal adopts a different structure with significantly lower salary and bonuses than his previous contract, which ran from September 2024 to July 2026.

The agreement also includes renegotiation of a debt of about R$ 42 million owed to the player from unpaid bonuses under the earlier deal.

Keen to stay, Memphis accepted reduced pay and revised terms that the board had deemed unviable.
