Micah Richards and Alan Shearer praised the Elland Road roar as Leeds United beat Crystal Palace on Saturday, a result that eased Daniel Farke’s side further from danger.

On The Rest is Football podcast, they reflected on a home display that extended Leeds’ unbeaten run to four and moved them six points clear, as Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored twice with Anton Stach and Ethan Ampadu also on target in a fine win against last season’s FA Cup winners.

Richards said Elland Road, when it crackles, ranks among the Premier League’s best. He referenced the Sunderland derby, Liverpool and the early Tottenham atmosphere, noting performances have affected Spurs more recently.

He joked he cannot get a ticket at present, adding that season tickets can take years to obtain. He said he previously sourced seats via Mancucci, who he described as moving from Fiorentina’s board to a role at Leeds, but he no longer has that link.

Shearer declared his fondness for Elland Road and teased Richards that he loves it more. He pointed to his own record against Leeds, scoring 21 times in 24 appearances, as the reason for that affection.
