Michael: Al-Ula ‘have offered’ $3m as Flamengo exit nears

Flamengo forward Michael is increasingly close to leaving after interest from Al-Ula. He is not involved for the match against São Paulo.

Uol reports that Al-Ula have offered $3 million, around R$ 16 million, for the 29-year-old. Santos, who had prepared an announcement video, could now miss out.

Santos had an agreement with Michael, but he would only depart Flamengo on wages of R$ 2 million per month. That figure is beyond Santos’ budget, who instead opted to sign Rony.

This would not be Michael’s first spell in Saudi Arabia, the winger previously played for Al-Hilal. Al-Ula also tried to land him last July, but he turned the move down and stayed at Flamengo.

Michael is not among Flamengo’s current priorities. The team open their Brasileirão campaign at Morumbi, and the forward did not travel, remaining in Rio de Janeiro.
