Good news for Man United ahead of pre-season fixture against Leeds

The trio are back with their Man United team-mates after travelling to join the squad at their pre-season training camp in the Republic of Ireland on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Mainoo, was afforded an extended break after being part of the England squad that finished third at the World Cup earlier in the summer.

Having not playing a single minute at the tournament across North America as the Three Lions were beaten by Argentina in the semi-final, the midfielder was then ruled out of the bronze final win over France through injury.

Though, it would appear that Mainoo has made a full recovery as he prepares to begin his pre-season.

In addition to the aforementioned trio, Marcus Rashford has also joined up with the squad for the training camp and Carrick has revealed his plans for the winger, who has not played a competitive match for the club since December 2024.

“I've played with him. I played in the game he made his debut, so we have a history,” Carrick said when asked about Rashford following the draw against PSG.

“We have got a full squad this week in Dublin. We fly straight there and have a few days where we have the whole group back together.

“Marcus is part of that, and Kobbie and Lisandro. We look forward to seeing them.”

Man United have also confirmed the arrivals of Matthijs de Ligt, Benjamin Sesko and JJ Gabriel in Ireland, as well as summer signings Karl Darlow - who joined from Leeds last month - and highly-rated winger Tynan Thompson.

De Ligt is continuing his recovery from back surgery earlier this year, while Sesko and Darlow are on track to be available for the start of the new campaign after missing every pre-season fixture so far.
