Rodri’s future could shape the Premier League’s midfield market this month, with potential knock-on moves if Manchester City’s anchor departs.
According to NY Times, City rejected Barcelona’s bid of about £38m plus add-ons for Rodri and want near €80m. They admire Ayyoub Bouaddi and retain interest in Enzo Fernandez, though Chelsea expect him to stay. City also concluded contract talks with Jeremy Doku.
Arsenal landed Bruno Guimaraes for £75m after Vinicius Junior renewed at Real Madrid. A left-wing move is being weighed, which could open a Gabriel Martinelli sale. Ezri Konsa remains on their radar.
Chelsea sold Trevoh Chalobah to Como for an initial £25m. Outgoings dominate, with Pedro Neto coveted by four Premier League clubs, loan interest in Mykhailo Mudryk and Nicolas Jackson available.
Liverpool signed Ronald Araujo on loan with a €55m option. Talks for Bradley Barcola continue, but PSG’s £145m valuation is a major hurdle, so other wide targets, including Ibrahim Mbaye, are being assessed.
Manchester United sold Radek Vitek to Middlesbrough and loaned Altay Bayindir to Celta Vigo. They are pursuing Leicester’s Louis Page and exploring left-back and striker options, with Juventus in dialogue over Joshua Zirkzee.
Newcastle named Matthias Jaissle, beat Valencia 2-1 and sold Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal for £75m. Tottenham extended Micky van de Ven, want Savinho and have a verbal fee with Inter for Cristian Romero.
Elsewhere, Crystal Palace are finalising a deal for Anan Khalaili from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.
