Michael Kayode has downplayed a return to Italy. "To be honest, I’m not thinking about going back to Italy: I just want to perform well, improve here at Brentford and continue to develop at this club," he told Tuttosport.

The Brentford right-back has been linked with Juventus. He was nominated for the Premier League Young Player of the Year earlier this week.

In his first full season in England, the 21-year-old has missed just one Premier League game. Brentford sit eighth in the Premier League and are on the cusp of European qualification for the first time in the club’s history.

Kayode joined from Fiorentina in January 2025, initially on loan, with the move made permanent that summer. He is also noted for the distance of his long throws.

He has represented Italy at under-18, under-19 and under-21 levels, and is yet to make his senior national team debut.

Brentford host Crystal Palace on Sunday, then travel to Anfield to face Liverpool on 24 May.
