Michael Olise evokes Zinédine Zidane with goals, assist and free-kick in France’s Nations League run | OneFootball

Michael Olise continued his breakout for France, scoring their only goal in the 1-1 draw with Italy on Friday.

L'Équipe highlights that the Bayern Munich forward has mixed goals, creative work and set-piece precision, evoking the former playmaker’s genius and brightening Zinédine Zidane’s early tenure as France manager.

The run began in Türkiye, where he released Kylian Mbappé to open the scoring in a 1-0 win.

In Brussels on Monday, he then struck the winner against Belgium, a 1-0 victory punctuated by Zidane miming a fierce strike on the touchline as the shot went in.

Back at the Stade de France on Friday, Olise bent in a sumptuous free-kick for 1-1 against Italy, prompting Zidane to turn towards the bench and dip into a surfer-like stance.
