Michele Kang’s OL takeover agreement and DNCG hearing mark pivotal day

Tuesday 23 June 2026 marked a pivotal day for OL, which confirmed an agreement for the club’s purchase by American billionaire Michele Kang.

According to Le Progres, earlier in the day she presented her takeover plan to the DNCG, which is due to deliver its decision soon.

Kang, president of OL and OL Lyonnes, arrived at the LFP headquarters in Paris shortly before 9.30am to appear before the DNCG. The American businesswoman has spent the past year trying to revive a club on the brink of bankruptcy.

This was a takeover hearing rather than a routine review.

Some had envisaged the purchase might involve her alongside Ares, the principal creditor of Eagle Football Group.
