On Thursday, Mickaël Nadé, 27, ended more than 10 years at Saint-Étienne by signing for Dubai's United FC, who immediately loaned him to newly promoted Rodina Moscou for one season in the Russian Premier Division.

AS Saint-Étienne said in a statement that they wished him well and that he would remain a Vert for ever.

The centre-back joined the club's academy in 2014 and made his professional debut in 2017. He went on to make 144 appearances.

Across his 10 seasons he was loaned only once, spending 2020-2021 with QRM. New head coach Ian Cathro no longer had him in his plans.

The move closes a chapter that began at the Robert-Herbin training centre, and starts a new one in the United Arab Emirates and Russia.
