Middlesbrough climb into top four as Lankshear double seals victory | OneFootball

Middlesbrough beat West Bromwich Albion 3-1 at the Riverside on Saturday to rise from seventh to fourth in the Championship.

In the 48th minute Will Lankshear headed in from very close range to break the deadlock. Moments earlier, Morgan Whittaker had struck the left post.

Max O'Leary kept Albion in it soon after, tipping Callum Brittain's goalbound header aside (59.).

Jimmy Morgan levelled with a fine header into the top corner from Isaac Price's delivery (65.).

Boro's changes on 69 minutes added punch. Kyle Joseph forced O'Leary into a save (73.), and moments later Lankshear swept in his second to restore the lead (73.).

Radek Vítek then palmed away Price's rising drive from range as Albion pressed (83.).

A late set piece settled it, with substitute Alfie Jones turning in Luke Ayling's knockdown from close range (87.).

Lankshear now leads the Championship scoring charts with four goals. Next, Boro visit Burnley. West Bromwich Albion host Charlton Athletic next.
