Miguel Sierra has burst to prominence at Sevilla FC, delivering a standout start to the league and a match-winning turn at Riazor.

According to La Colina De Nervion, after making 10 additions one of Sevilla’s smartest finds was already in-house. Sierra struck the decisive goal against Deportivo de La Coruña and took the MVP award, underlining his growing influence in Luis García Plaza’s plans.

He was the only Sevilla player since at least 2005/06 to attempt more than 10 dribbles and make more than 10 recoveries while winning 12 duels in a LaLiga match. He contested 28 duels, the club’s highest figure in the last six seasons. Sierra has also won 41 duels, the second-best tally among attackers.

Sierra played down his role afterwards, saying he was delighted but stressed the team effort and that he merely applied the finish. He added that García Plaza wants him to play his game and work extremely hard, granting him freedom up front when the work is done.

His rise also brings a contractual angle that could grow if he sustains this level. His release clause stands at €20 million, a figure that already looks on the low side for future bids. For now, Sevilla will simply enjoy his emergence.
