Mikel Goti joins Córdoba on loan to boost midfield | OneFootball

Córdoba have made their third winter-window move, sealing a loan for Mikel Goti from Real Sociedad until 30 June, with no purchase option.

According to AS, the club want a midfielder to sharpen their central play. Goti is left-footed, carries a goal threat and can operate across midfield, aligning with Iván Ania's approach. Real Sociedad want the Biscayan to gain senior minutes after his promotion, and he is contracted there until 30 June 2028.

The player's view also counted. He drew interest from several Segunda sides and from abroad, yet Ania's ideas appealed to him, so Córdoba won the race.

He travelled from San Sebastián yesterday, passed his medical this morning and has already trained under Ania ahead of Saturday's 21:00 match against Real Valladolid. His involvement is not ruled out, as happened with Trilli last weekend in Las Palmas.

The loan was deemed sensible, as he had played only four matches in the top flight. Last season, Sergio Francisco, his coach at Sanse, handed him a debut against Real Madrid, then he featured against Athletic de Bilbao, Villarreal and Deportivo Alavés. He saw more Copa del Rey minutes, scoring in early ties against Negreira and Reus.

Goti is set to add quality and increase competition in his area, and he could contest minutes with Pedro Ortiz, Jacobo and Dalisson. Ania now has another option when naming his line-up.

His arrival fills Córdoba's 25 professional licences, so any further additions would require a second-team registration. Goti will wear number 25.
