Tottenham have signed Chelsea winger Mikhaïlo Moudrik on loan, the clubs announced on Tuesday’s deadline day, with no option to buy. The Ukraine international moves soon after returning from a doping suspension.

He had been suspended since 2024 after a positive test for meldonium in November 2024. He went 615 days without playing before reappearing in pre-season.

During Chelsea’s summer friendlies he featured three times for roughly 20 minutes in total. Despite the limited action, Spurs have moved to add depth after a stuttering start to their season.

In north London he will work again with Roberto De Zerbi, his former coach at Chakhtar Donetsk. Under De Zerbi in Ukraine he produced 19 appearances, two goals and nine assists across their single season together.

Moudrik joined Chelsea in 2023 and has made 73 appearances for the club.
