Milan issue transfer ultimatum to unwanted trio of Gimenez, Fofana and Tomori | OneFootball

Milan have made it clear that Santiago Gimenez, Youssouf Fofana and Fikayo Tomori are not part of the club’s plans for the 2026-27 season and the latest updates on Thursday claim that the Rossoneri are prepared to exile them from the first-team squad if they do not leave before the end of the summer transfer window.

Gimenez, Fofana and Tomori at risk of Milan exile

Milan still have plenty of work to do in the final week of the summer transfer window, and as things stand, moving a few players on appears to be the priority.

Head coach Ruben Amorim has decided that Gimenez, Fofana and Tomori will not have a part to play during the 2026-27 season. The same was also said of Christopher Nkunku, who has since returned to RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, whilst Rafael Leao appears to be heading for the exit as well.

Milan are still hoping to arrange sales of Gimenez, Fofana and Tomori before the close of the summer transfer window, but there is now less than a week to go before the deadline on September 1 and as things stand, they are still Milan players.

The Rossoneri require a permanent sale of Tomori given that he is now into the final year of his contract in San Siro, although for Gimenez and Fofana, who have longer deals, a loan deal with an option or obligation to buy remains a possibility.

The three players have not been included in Milan’s squad list for the 2026-27 season, have not been given squad numbers, and now, according to the latest updates from La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri are prepared to keep the three players away from the first squad for the entirety of the 2026-27 season if they do not complete moves away before the close of the transfer window.
