Milan have received some bad news from the infirmary regarding Mike Maignan and Ruben Loftus-Cheek following their draw with Juventus.
The Rossoneri again failed to impress in their Serie A outing on Saturday evening, being held to a goalless draw by the Bianconeri in Turin. Stefano Pioli’s side are now winless in their last three league matches, having struggled after their Europa League quarter-final exit to Roma.
Milan have just four matches left now in the 2023-24 season – Genoa on May 5th, Cagliari on the 12th, Torino on the 19th and Salernitana on the 26th. If recent reports are to be believed, these could be Pioli’s final four games in the dugout.
Calciomercato.com details how Maignan and Loftus-Cheek underwent a round of medical tests this morning, which confirmed the presence of muscle injuries in both Milan stars.
For the French goalkeeper, he’s suffered a low-grade lesion to his right adductor, whilst the English midfielder a low-grade lesion to his right hamstring.
Both players will undergo a round of medical tests next week to shed more light on their conditions. The duo are expected to be sidelined for around 10-14 days.
