Milan Reportedly Earmark Atalanta and Udinese Stars

Milan will aim to bolster their depth in the summer and have taken an interest in two proven Serie A contributors, Raoul Bellanova and Nicolò Zaniolo, who could be on the move for opposite reasons.

According to TuttoSport (via Fantacalcio), Massimiliano Allegri has asked for at least one more wingback. The Atalanta man has struggled to return to form following a severe thigh injury this campaign, losing his spot to Davide Zappacosta and Lorenzo Bernasconi. The Rossoneri have been in touch with his entourage, but the deal isn’t easy. La Dea spent €25M to acquire him from Torino. He’s a homegrown player for the San Siro club, which would help with the lists.

While Bellanova could depart because he’s unhappy with his role, Zaniolo might seize the opportunity to return to a big team after a bounce-back campaign at Udinese, and the Milan coach is a fan.

After a few botched spells, the ‘fantasista’ has found his home in Friuli, notching six goals and six assists so far. The Bianconeri are expected to buy him out for €10M for Galatasaray. However, they could decide to quickly cash in on him if they get a worthy offer.

Our Take on Milan Eyeing Bellanova and Zaniolo

They’ll have a lot to do, as they leaned on a very shallow roster this season, and they won’t be able to sign just top players. The former has had a weird trajectory, but he was also pricey, so the bid would have to be enticing. Atalanta might just keep him, hoping he’ll rehab his value next year. The attacker has been splendid, but he could use another season with Udinese to prove that his turnaround is legit and permanent.
