Raul Jimenez left the door open to a Wolves return on Sunday, sparking lively debate among supporters after the club’s final home game of the season.
The striker remains Wolves’ record Premier League scorer with 40 goals from a five-year spell, departing in 2023 with 57 in all competitions. ExpressAndStar.com understands early conversations have taken place between the club and the player about a possible comeback. He has since scored 28 goals in almost 100 Fulham appearances.
“Why not? There is always a possibility. Let’s see. It would be nice, more after today, let’s see.” Asked if a move could happen this summer, he said: “I don’t know, maybe. But I don’t know.”
Many fans welcomed the idea, pleading for him to come home and calling it savvy business, with one arguing it made financial sense given his earning power in Mexico and his experience.
Others pushed back, citing his age of 35 and insisting Wolves need younger, Championship-proven players who can handle 44 games and deliver a 20-plus goal number 9.
One supporter, usually against reunions, felt the whole club needs a lift and that Jimenez would provide it, adding he has performed well in the Premier League and would be more than good enough for the Championship.
