Milan Set to Focus on Three Further Positions Next

After putting their hands on Gonçalo Ramos, Milan will try to bolster their defense and their midfield next, and they are ready to enter the race for Kerim Alajbegovic, who’s continuing to turn heads with Bosnia in the World Cup, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The Rossoneri are working shoulder to shoulder with Jorge Mendes to find the right man. They are tracking Antonio Silva, but their chase hasn’t gone as smoothly as they hoped. His contract expires in 2027, but Benfica offered him a renewal. They haven’t given up on retaining him, so his price tag is significant, around €30M. The Serie A outfit hadn’t plotted that kind of investment for him at this stage.

Milan will have to spend a bit more if they really wanted Morten Hjulmand, but their strategy at the position isn’t set in stone and will hinge on the future of Luka Modric and Adrien Rabiot. Instead, Roma and Atalanta are after Alajbegovic as well. Bayer Leverkusen are putting up resistance and could simply keep him after buying him back for €8M from RB Salzburg.

The Rossoneri might sign two defenders if Fikayo Tomori leaves. They have been monitoring Lecce’s Tiago Gabriel throughout the season, but he’s expensive as well. Ruben Amorim rates Lisandro Martinez highly. Per Matteo Moretto (via Tuttomercatoweb), they are testing the waters for Gonçalo Inacio, but he’s hard to get as well, since Sporting CP consider him a linchpin.

Our Take on the Milan Moves

Another defender would help as they are paper-thin, but he’d have to be a really good one to unseat one of their three starters. If any side has a chance to snap up Alajbegovic at a reasonable price, they should definitely go for it.
