Milan have secured a fullback for the future, Juan Arizala from Independiente Medellin, while Davide Bartesaghi, who has been routinely playing over Pervis Estupinan, has attracted some suitors in England.

According to Calciomercato, the Rossoneri will shell out €3M for their new youngster, plus a 10/20 percent resale clause. He’ll fly to Italy after the final of the domestic cup. He’ll go out on loan initially, possibly in France. He has featured 52 times with his current side, scoring three times and assisting once. The 20-year-old has 22 caps and one goal with Colombia U-20.

After cutting his teeth elsewhere, Arizala will bolster the left wing, which is currently occupied by Bartesaghi, who has won the starting job even though Milan spent €20M for Estupinan last summer. He seized the opportunity once his teammate suffered an ankle injury and didn’t look back.

Per Matteo Moretto (via Tuttomercatoweb), his growth has been noticed abroad. A few Premier League sides have tested the waters for the future. He prolonged his contract until 2030 last summer and makes €600k annually. He has made all the steps through their youth system, including 31 matches with the Futuro squad, and has appeared 27 times with their first team.

Our Take on Milan, Bartesaghi, and Arizala

While Estupinan has been shakier than they thought, it’s an achievement for a talent to win over Massimiliano Allegri. He’s not particularly dynamic, but he’s diligent and balances out their formation well, thanks to defensive solidity, as they lean a lot on the other flank, given Alexis Saelemaekers’ traits. He has everything in place to be a long-term fixture, unless they become one of those teams that rack up cash through ‘plusvalenze.’
