Birmingham beat Derby 2-1 at Pride Park to stay eighth in the Championship, as the hosts slid from 16th to 22nd.

Bobby Clark put Derby ahead in the 40th minute, steering in from a tight angle after Sam Szmodics' pass.

Carlos Vicente levelled (42.) with a close range header from Liam Millar's cross.

Soon after coming on, Paik Seung-ho glanced in the decisive header from Millar's corner (63.).

Jacob Zetterström then kept Derby in it with sharp stops from Jay Stansfield and Vicente (83., 84.), before Ethan Laird was denied and Luis Vázquez struck the bar (89.). Thirteen minutes of second half stoppage time were indicated as Birmingham saw the game out.

Derby had 59.4% possession and 18 attempts, but only four on target. Birmingham matched the attempt count and produced nine efforts on target from 18.

Derby visit Burnley next. Birmingham host Middlesbrough.
