The Foxes would like to bring in a new centre-forward before the transfer window shuts.

Leicester City remain interested in Millwall centre-forward Mihailo Ivanovic.

This summer window at the King Power Stadium has mainly focused on outgoings. That's only natural given the relegation season that they suffered in the previous campaign, but their standings in relation to the Profit and Sustainability Rules also put more pressure on them to offload some of their assets.

Later in the window, more and more emphasis has been put on bringing in players to add to Marti Cifuentes' squad, particularly at the top end of the pitch, where the Foxes are really lacking.

Their attacking options are set to be further weakened by Bilal El Khannouss' pending move to Stuttgart. He will join the German side on an initial loan deal that will then become permanent next summer, netting Leicester £26 million, as per Sky Sports.

No direct replacements look like they're on their way to the East Midlands just yet. However, City are certainly looking to bring in a new number nine.

Leicester City considering moves for Mihailo Ivanovic and Feyenoord striker

Former target Ivanovic remains a potential option for Cifuentes, according to Sky Sports, despite previous reports stating that they had been priced out of a deal for the Serbian goalscorer. Journalist Alan Nixon stated over the weekend that the Lions would look to recoup £15 million for the 20-year-old.

Another striker option that Leicester are looking at is Feyenoord's Julian Carranza. The same report from Sky stated that discussions are being held between the two clubs over a late move for the Argentinian.

Carranza represented Feyenoord in the Champions League last season, having joined them from MLS side Philadelphia Union last summer. He scored four times in 21 appearances for the Eredivisie side last season.

Leicester have tried to move Patson Daka on this summer but, according to John Percy, a deal with Real Betis has fallen through.

Meanwhile, Cifuentes' stocks in the middle of the park are set to be boosted by the loan arrival of Aaron Ramsey from Burnley, again, according to Sky Sports.

Leicester must take striker action before 7pm deadline

Leicester can't afford to rely on Jordan Ayew and Daka as their only two options to lead the line for the club. Daka's extremely patchy form since moving to the King Power Stadium in 2021 and Ayew simply not being a natural centre-forward will leave the club in such a disadvantaged state in their bid to try and reclaim their Premier League status.

Around them, they have some very promising options. 21-year-old Abdul Fatawu and 16-year-old Jeremy Monga are two top talents that could drive Leicester's attack this season. They also have the experience of Stephy Mavididi to turn to on the wings.

There are some pieces to get really excited about. It's just hard to envisage Leicester being serious contenders at the top end of the table without an established striker.
