Under the partnership, Mitre will provide all SWPL clubs with a stock of Mitre Delta Max match balls, with a retail value in total of over £100,000.

Mitre and Scottish football have been partnered since 1998 and with the creation of the new SWPL it begins a new chapter as the official match ball partner of both the men’s and women’s professional leagues.

The official ball is crafted with a unique 14-panel configuration and embossed surface texture specifically designed for manipulating airflow to allow pin-point accuracy and maximum speed. Whilst featuring Hyperseam ™ Technology – seams are stitched and bonded, for zero uptake of water, with no-compromise on performance.

Fiona McIntyre, SWPL Managing Director said: “I am absolutely delighted that we will be working with Mitre, a brand that is synonymous with Scottish football, as we move into a new era for the women‘s game.

“In advance of our historic, inaugural season kicking off, this is another important milestone as we build a more professional league at this pivotal time for women’s football in Scotland.”

Simon Rowe, Head of Global Sports Marketing at Mitre said: “We are delighted to play our role with the inaugural SWPL season as the official match ball partner.

“Mitre have been involved with Scottish football over two decades so it was important to us to expand our partnership to be the official match ball partner for SWPL1 and SWPL2 for next season.

“We are passionate about growing the game, and Women’s football is integral to our plans. The passion and excitement of the Euros shows how inspirational the game can be, and we look forward to being part of the exponential growth of the game in Scotland”
