Major League Soccer clubs continue to make roster moves with pre-season quickly approaching in preparation for the 2024 campaign.

Two players depart their respective clubs for opportunities in South America, while another side recruits a midfielder with Gold Cup experience from the Hungarian first division.

1. Toronto FC sign Deybi Flores from Fehervar FC

Toronto FC have signed midfielder Deybi Flores from Hungarian side Fehervar FC on a deal though the 2025 season with an option for 2026.The move sees Flores return to MLS for a second stint, as he was with Vancouver Whitecaps both on loan and permanently before joining CD Olimpia in Honduras in July 2018. "We are happy to have Deybi join us for 2024 and beyond. He is a warrior in the middle of the field and will be an important piece in our evolution as a group," Toronto general manager Jason Hernandez said in a release."Deybi possesses both the skill set and mentality we require at the central midfield position. We look forward to his arrival and getting to work."Flores has managed 35 appearances with the Honduras national team while also suiting up over 230 times at club level as a defensive midfiedler.

Brazilian Serie A side Cuiaba have signed midfielder Max Alves from Colorado Rapids. Alves made 43 appearances for Colorado after arriving ahead of the 2022 season and returns to Cuiaba for a second stint, where he had a brief spell on loan from Flamengo during the 2021 season."We'd like to thank Max for his contributions during his time at the club," Colorado president Padraig Smith said in a release. "We wish him all the best in this next chapter of his career."

3. San Lorenzo sign Jhohan Romana from Austin FC

Argentinian side San Lorenzo have signed center-back Jhohan Romana from Austin FC.The 25-year-old suited up for the Verde and Black 35 times across all competitions from 2021 - 2022 and was out on loan with Olimpia for the 2023 season.Romana returns to South America where his professional career began back in April 2016 in his native Colombia with Independiente Medellin.
