AC Milan are keeping Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez firmly in their sights now that many of their favoured striker targets are committing their futures to other clubs or proving hard to acquire.

As reported by Milan News, the Rossoneri are making sure that they have plenty of options available given they have to add at least one high-profile striker to the squad this summer now that Olivier Giroud has departed.

With only Luka Jovic at the club as a senior striker, Zirkzee has been the assumed target but the agent’s commissions have slowed the entire move down and put it into jeopardy.

One of the main alternatives was Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk, but he has now committed himself to Girona for at least another season.

That means that Gimenez’s name becomes more important, a Mexican striker that Milan have been linked with for a very long time.

He scored 23 league goals last season for Feyenoord and got 15 the year before which means he has two seasons of consistent scoring under his belt.

Being 1.83m tall, he closer represents Olivier Giroud in terms of frame and has great jumping reach. Feyenoord value him at about €50m but Milan would likely try to sign him for less.
