Practice certainly made perfect for Mo Kudus at Elland Road.

The forward told us after our 2-1 win against Leeds United that he’d been working on the finish that ultimately secured the three points after a typical Premier League battle in Yorkshire - Leeds’ first home loss in the league in over a year.

Mo read the situation perfectly as Pedro Porro’s pass bounced off Leeds left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson. He then instinctively drove towards the penalty area, dribbling right to left before unleashing the shot he’d been working on – back across goalkeeper Karl Darlow into the bottom right corner.

Mo took time out afterwards to run the rule over the goal with our social media team - above - and then told how the goal might just ‘open doors’ for more. “It feels really good to score,” he said. “It's something I've been working on for the past months. It feels really good to score my first goal. It’s opened doors for more to come.”

It was pointed out how he pounced on Gudmundsson’s touch. “Yes, sometimes it's not just winning the first pass, it's the reaction of the second ball. When I went inside, I thought short corner (shot to the near post) is something I've been practising. I'm glad that it went in.

“Today's game was less about tactics, it was about great determination and who wants it more. They were running, they were fighting for the ball and we knew that we needed to match that intensity. That’s what the game was about. I think everyone was on top for us to get a win.”
