Ouest France reports that Nantes are close to taking Franco-Guinean midfielder Mohamed Kaba from Lecce on loan, with an option to buy.
The move would follow versatile defender Frédéric Guilbert’s arrival on Tuesday on a deal to the end of the season.
The option would be worth around €4 million.
Kaba, 24, joined Lecce in August 2023 for €3 million excluding bonuses after emerging at Valenciennes in Ligue 2. He had also attracted interest from Lorient and Club Bruges.
After the winter additions of Deiver Machado, Rémy Cabella, Ibrahima Sissoko, Ali Yousuf and Guilbert, Kaba is expected in Nantes on Thursday to bolster the midfield. The Canaris sit 16th in Ligue 1.
