Monaco face Gornik Zabrze in the Conference League play-off first leg on Thursday with mixed fitness news, with setbacks for Fati and Abline and encouragement over Balogun.
Filipe Luis’s squad trained on Monday, but Fati did not take part. According to L'Équipe, the forward has a calf problem picked up in England last week, which is delaying his return.
He had been pencilled in for Sunday’s league opener at Le Havre at 17:15, but he should now be fit at some point in September.
Abline suffered a knock in Friday’s 0-2 defeat at Coventry. A blocked shot left a cut on his right foot that required stitches, and though he played on for around an hour he did not train on Monday. He is uncertain for the trip to Poland, and that call has not yet been made.
There is better news on Balogun, who is training normally with the group. Although he remains a candidate to leave this summer, he is edging closer to a return to action. Monaco are due to travel on Wednesday afternoon ahead of the match in southern Poland.
