Paris Brunner given two-match ban after Strasbourg celebration | OneFootball

Paris Brunner has been handed a two-match ban, with a further two games suspended, for his controversial celebration away to Strasbourg on 12 September. L'Équipe reports that the sanction was issued by the LFP disciplinary commission on Wednesday evening.

After scoring at La Meinau, the AS Monaco forward mimed a knife cutting a throat, an action that saw the Conseil national de l’éthique (CNE) refer him to the league’s disciplinary body.

The early-season standout, with six goals in seven matches in all competitions, will begin serving the punishment from Tuesday 29 September.

The German will miss the home game against Toulouse on 10 October (20h45) and the trip to Lorient on 18 October (17h15).

The incident followed his goal in Strasbourg-Monaco, which finished 1-1.
