Monaco open talks with Paris Brunner over new contract | OneFootball

L'Équipe reports that Monaco have opened negotiations with Paris Brunner and his representatives over a new contract. The 20-year-old German forward has scored six goals in seven club matches this season and is under contract until June 2028.

His rise continued on international duty, where he struck twice for Germany Under-21s in a 4-0 win against Latvia. The past month and a half has seen him step up markedly.

As things stand, Monaco would face a decision next summer to avoid a free departure. The club aim to extend his deal by at least two seasons.

Brunner, ASM’s number 29, has settled on the Rock and is now starting regularly under Filipe Luis. The coach has backed him after an almost blank campaign last term.

Sky Sports Germany has said a buyback clause may have been inserted when he joined Monaco two years ago. The clause does exist, but it only allows Borussia Dortmund to match another club’s offer and does not grant priority, so Dortmund would also need to convince the player. No buyback option was agreed.
