AS Monaco don’t exactly head into their UEFA Champions League encounter against Manchester City brimming with confidence. Whilst Adi Hutter’s side still sit inside the top four in Ligue 1, the manager has deplored Monaco’s performances in every match, without fail, this season, regardless of the result.
They go into the match against Manchester City off the back of a 3-1 defeat to relegation contenders FC Lorient, and Hutter has said that his side must be prepared to “suffer a lot” at the Stade Louis II on Wednesday night.
“Manchester City will have more possession. We will have to suffer a lot. My players recognise it […] every team that plays against Man City has to suffer,” said the Monaco manager in a press conference attended by Get French Football News.
He added, “To win against Man City, lots of things are possible. For sure, we need a fantastic day. On the other hand, they are one of the best teams in the world.”
