Monaco have yet to open talks over a new deal for Krépin Diatta, whose contract expires at the end of the season, despite his standout displays at the recent Africa Cup of Nations, which Senegal won.
According to Get French Football News, chief executive Thiago Scuro told a press conference that there are no extension discussions for now, with the club focused on its situation.
He said Monaco hope Diatta can have more impact and minutes, after which a decision will be made together, stressing it is also the player's choice and that talks will happen at the right time.
The 26-year-old, capable of operating on the wing or at full-back, has had a bit-part role this season, making 13 appearances in all competitions for Monaco.
With his deal running down, he is currently free to sign a pre-contract with another club.
