AS Monaco will be without full-back Kassoum Ouattara for several weeks, Sébastien Pocognoli confirmed ahead of Thursday’s Coupe de France encounter against RC Strasbourg Alsace.
The Frenchman was absent from training on Wednesday afternoon and not only will he miss tomorrow’s match, he will also miss several weeks of action with a calf injury. Ansu Fati is suffering from the same injury. The Barcelona loanee was subbed off at half-time during Monaco’s 4-0 win over Stade Rennais over the weekend, but whilst he will miss the game against Le Racing, his absence is not a long-term one.
The good news on Thursday came in the form of the presence of Wout Faes and Christian Mawissa in training. Get French Football News understands that neither completed the session, but both are “on the right path”, said Pocognoli in a press conference attended by GFFN.
Faes is closer to a return. More caution is being taken with Mawissa, who has suffered repetitive muscular injuries. Folarin Balogun was also in training, having come off with a thigh injury against Rennes.
