Lucas Michal (20) is set to join FC Metz on loan until the end of the season, according to a report from L’Équipe.
Given the competition with Folarin Balogun, Mika Biereth, and George Ilenikhena, Michal has, understandably, found game time difficult to come by at formative club AS Monaco this season. The forward has accumulated just 89 minutes of playing time in all competitions, spanning four appearances (two in Ligue 1, two in the UEFA Champions League).
As reported by Marc Mechenoua, the Frenchman had two possibilities. Both Stade Brestois and Metz were interested in signing the centre-forward. The latter currently sit rock bottom of Ligue 1, however, this is the option that has been favoured by the Principality club. It is hoped that there he will have the game time in order to further his developpment. There is no buy option included in the deal.
There could be another departure in the forward department before the end of the window, with George Ilenikhena nearing a €33m move to Al-Ittihad.
