Stanis Idumbo (20) has suffered a dislocated shoulder, Sébastien Pocognoli has confirmed. The Belgium youth international could miss the rest of the season.
Idumbo suffered the blow during training on Wednesday. Speaking at Friday’s press conference, attended by Get French Football News, Pocognoli confirmed the nature of the injury and also provided a timeline on the winger’s return.
Pocognoli said that Idumbo would be out for “several weeks”, and whilst he did not confirm that the player’s season was definitely over, the suggestion was that it would be difficult to see him again with just five gameweeks remaining in Ligue 1.
Idumbo joined Monaco from Sevilla in a €10m deal at the start of the season, however, he has struggled for minutes. In all competitions, he has played just 12 games, scoring once and registering one assist. It is now unlikely that he will add to that tally before the end of May.
