Monza have good news in their hopes of signing Wojciech Szczesny from Juventus, as Al-Nassr have dropped him and Manchester City’s Ederson to close on Bento.

CEO Adriano Galliani told reporters today that signing Szczesny was somewhere between a suggestion and a dream, but he received a huge boost this evening.

According to Sportitalia, Al-Nassr had a conference call with the Poland international and felt let down that he was so unenthusiastic about the idea of moving to the Saudi Pro League, especially with a massive salary of €20m.

Meanwhile, the club had also tried and failed to agree a deal with Manchester City for Ederson, so turned to Plan C.

That is represented by Bento, the 25-year-old Athletico Paranaense shot-stopper who had for a while been heavily linked with a move to Inter.

Unlike Szczesny and Ederson, it seems as if Bento is very eager to make the switch to Al-Nassr and is already down to the details for just under €20m.

He could fly out over the next 24 hours to the Saudi team’s pre-season training camp in Portugal to undergo a medical and complete the transfer.
