Moreira given permission for Milan medical, deal worth over €50m | OneFootball

Multiple sources confirm Diego Moreira is scheduled to land on Tuesday at 11.00 UK time (12.00 CEST) for his Milan medical, in a deal worth at least €50m from RC Strasbourg.

The negotiations were either lightning fast or kept well away from the spotlight, because this afternoon suddenly it was confirmed an agreement had been reached.

There is some variation on the figures put forward by different reports, but they seem to vary from €45-50m guaranteed, and some minor add-ons, plus a cut of the future sale fee.

Strasbourg have this evening given Moreira permission to travel, and numerous sources including Sky Sport Italia and MilanNews all confirm his flight should land at Linate Airport on Tuesday at 11.00 UK time (12.00 CEST).

The Belgium international winger can then undergo his tests before signing the contract to June 2031.

He had previously been linked with Roma, RB Leipzig and Galatasaray, but Milan swooped in with the aid of agent Jorge Mendes, who has close ties to the Rossoneri.

Transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano suggests that Moreira had his heart set on coming to Serie A, and there was a clue two weeks ago when he posted a video of himself training in pre-season wearing Belgium teammate Alexis Saelemaekers’ Milan jersey.
