André Ferreira was busy early on in Moreira de Cónegos, the goalkeeper doing well to deny Gianluca Prestianni and Rafa Silva.

Maracás was having a hard time against the Eagles’ attack but he did well to block Rafa’s shot, Ferreira then called into action to stop Tomás Araújo.

Moreirense created their best chance in the 40th minute, Samuel Soares coming off his line to deny Alexandre Duville-Parsemain before Landerson sent the follow up wide.

The breakthrough came in added time, Clément Lenglet heading a corner over the bar and being hit high by Duville-Parsemain.

The Benfica bench blew up before referee Fábio Verissimo went to the touchline, watched replays and awarded a penalty. Vangelis Pavlidis stroked the ball down the middle.

Marco Silva’s side extended their lead 10 minutes after the restart. Prestianni drove to the byline and cut the ball back to Schelderup who squeezed it through Ferreira.

The result was confirmed four minutes later when Prestianni did it all himself. He raced raced past Gilberto Batista, got into the box, stayed on his feet and curled the ball into the bottom corner.

Fredrick Aursnes came off the bench and added a fourth goal. Schelderup sent a hopeful ball into the box where the Dane was left wide open to pass the ball under Ferreira and into the net.

The victory sees Benfica climb to second on the table, two points behind Porto. They have the most prolific attack, scoring 18 goals in five matches.
