Morgan Rogers and Alex Palmer have reacted to Josh Griffiths' farewell message to West Brom after completing Stoke switch
West Bromwich Albion's 2025/26 campaign was, statistically, their worst in 25 years, according to their league finish, and as James Morrison takes the reins at The Hawthorns on a permanent basis, things are clicking into gear in the Black Country.
West Brom survived relegation to League One by the skin of their teeth last campaign, finishing one place above the relegation zone, and at one stage, appeared to be all but down.
Ryan Mason kicked off the year, and though he put up a fight, results proved to be too inconsistent and more bad than good, as he was replaced by Welsh coach Eric Ramsay, and it would be fair to suggest that his time in charge was even worse.
By the time of his arrival, the Baggies were just one point above the bottom three, and despite being hit with a two-point deduction, he managed to keep his former club afloat.
Now, the Scot looks to stamp his authority on the club with some new additions, having signed both Jimmy-Jay Morgan from Chelsea and Carter Pinnington from Liverpool, and has made the tough decision to allow 24-year-old home-grown keeper Joshua Griffiths to leave the club, as the Englishman has since taken to social media to bid farewell to the club after 14 years of service.

Griffiths joined West Brom as a kid and has progressed his way through the ranks at The Hawthorns to the first team, but his path to the number one position was not simple.
Spells on loan with the likes of Cheltenham Town, Lincoln City, Portsmouth, and Bristol Rovers finally gave the Englishman a chance to prove himself as the club's first-choice at the beginning of last season.
Unfortunately for Griffiths, it was not an opportunity he could take, as after a string of poor performances, Mason took him out of the side in place of Joe Wildsmith.
Wildsmith also struggled to perform, and as the January window rolled around, Max O'Leary was brought in from division rivals Bristol City, and has since signed a deal until 2029 to become their permanent number one, forcing Griffiths out as a result
Matt Ingram's addition from Oxford United proved to be the nail in the coffin for Griffiths, who has now travelled approximately an hour north to Stoke City, signing a deal with the Potters for around £600k, and has since taken to Instagram to bid farewell to the Baggies.
In the post, Griffiths says he is proud to have represented West Brom, thanked his family and partner for their sacrifices, before going on to thank the staff, his teammates, and finally the fans.
In the responses, there are some familiar names, as each of Morgan Rogers, Daryl Dike, and Alex Palmer have all dropped a message of support for the 24-year-old.
Rogers said: "A time was had."
Palmer said: "💙💙💙."
Rogers came through the youth system at West Brom at the same time as Griffiths before his move to Manchester City, Middlesbrough, and now Aston Villa, where he has become a bona fide superstar.
Dike struggled with injuries during his time at the club and has now been released as a free agent, whilst Palmer left Albion in January 2025 to join Ipswich Town.
Each have taken their time to bid adieu to Griffiths, as he prepares to challenge Viktor Johansson for the number one spot at Stoke in the next stage of his career.

Griffiths made just 45 first-team appearances during his 14-year stay with West Brom, as he was never able to nail down a starting berth in the Black Country, as Baggies supporters would have hoped.
Many have taken to social media to react to the news, with the overriding feeling being fairly unanimous.
This West Brom fan thinks the club have made a mistake in allowing Griffiths to depart, as the Baggies hope this is a deal they don't regret.
There appears to be no ill-feeling from the West Brom supporters towards Griffiths following his departure, with many, including this fan, feeling more disappointed that his time at the club didn't work out as opposed to disappointment that he has chosen to leave.
On the whole, West Brom supporters wish Griffiths nothing but good luck and have thanked him for his services at the club.
Whilst this Baggies fan can understand his departure, they don't understand why Stoke would be his preferred destination, with the Englishman likely to play as an understudy to Johansson.
