Gunners set to face competition for attacking midfielder’s signature
Morgan Rogers is open to a summer move, potentially to Arsenal, who have expressed an interest.
Following their defeat to PSG in the Champions League final this past weekend, Arsenal’s focus will now shift to reinforcing their squad ahead of next season and Rogers is said to be on Mikel Arteta’s list of targets.
In a boost for the Gunners, the attacking midfielder is open to making the switch to the Emirates Stadium. That is according to the BBC, who also claim that preliminary talks with the player’s representatives have already taken place.
Rogers was the driving force behind one of Aston Villa’s most successful seasons. He helped Unai Emery’s side qualify for the Champions League and win the Europa league by chipping in with 14 goals and 12 assists in all competitions.
For this reason, Arteta has sanctioned a move for the midfielder who is set to be a prominent feature in England’s World Cup campaign this summer.

Arsenal are not the only team sniffing around Rogers, however, as both Chelsea and Manchester United have expressed an interest in bringing him on board.
Chelsea are looking at a sizeable squad shake-up this summer after a disappointing season and a new manager in Xabi Alonso taking the helm.
A player like Rogers would act as a good player to sit in front of Moises Caicedo and potentially Enzo Fernandez to take the playmaking and goalscoring burden off the Argentine’s shoulders.
Man United, meanwhile, are looking to sign three central midfielders as long-term plans and also to bolster their squad following the departure of Casemiro.
United are on the verge of a deal with Atalanta for Ederson and are looking to target West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes who will be looking for a move after their relegation.
Rogers does have experience playing under Michael Carrick during their shared time at Middlesborough.
