Morgan Rogers has vowed to shut out the noise over his Aston Villa future this summer.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, Premier League champions Arsenal want the midfielder, while Villa do not intend to sell and co-owner Nassef Sawiris is expected to ignore bids below £100 million.
Sawiris believes Rogers is worth more than his England team-mate Elliot Anderson, who has just joined Manchester City from Nottingham Forest for £116 million.
Asked about the price tag, Rogers said he is not sure he is worth that much and that, while the praise is welcome, he will not be guided by outside noise. He intends to stay focused, be himself and keep improving rather than listen to talk.
Rogers turns 24 later this month and has scored 31 goals in 125 appearances since arriving from Middlesbrough for an initial £8.5 million two and a half years ago. Middlesbrough are entitled to 20 per cent of the profit on any sale, which feeds into Villa’s valuation.
Rogers’ future will define Villa’s transfer business as they again balance incomings and outgoings.
Goalkeeper Emi Martinez is also the subject of speculation for the second straight summer amid interest from Juventus. Lens keeper Robin Risser has emerged as a possible target should the Argentina international depart. Risser, 21, was selected in France’s World Cup squad after being named goalkeeper of the year in the French top flight last season.
