Ouahbi  expects big performance from Brahim

Brahim Diaz has started all three of Morocco’s group-stage matches and is expected to retain his place in the starting lineup against the Netherlands.

The Real Madrid star has already made a major impact at the World Cup, assisting twice in crucial moments to help Morocco progress to the knockout stages.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Mohamed Ouahbi praised the attacking midfielder and suggested fans have yet to see his best version.

“He’s assisted two decisive goals at crucial moments; this Monday we’ll see an even better version of him; he’s the kind of player who steps up when it matters most,” he said.

Morocco ready for difficult Netherlands challenge

Morocco enter the match full of confidence after producing positive results throughout the group stage.

The African side opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Brazil before securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Scotland.

A 4-2 win over Haiti then confirmed second place in Group C and ensured qualification for the knockout rounds.

Their next opponents arrive in strong form as well, with the Netherlands topping Group F after drawing 2-2 with Japan, defeating Sweden 5-1 and overcoming Tunisia 3-1.

Ouahbi acknowledged that the Dutch side present a very different challenge compared to Morocco’s previous opponents, but he remains convinced his players are prepared.

“I have confidence in my team and in what the players have shown in training.

The Netherlands has a different profile than our previous rivals, but we will remain true to our style and adapt to any problems that may arise,” he concluded.
