Morocco national team has smashed a long-standing record for the most consecutive wins, previously held by Spain for 16 years.

The Atlas Lions have successfully booked their spot in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup and will host the 2025 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) in December.

During their World Cup qualifying campaign and preparations for the continental showpiece, Morocco won a staggering 16 matches in a row.

Walid Regragui's charges surpassed the record of 15 wins on the trot, set by the 2010 World champions over a decade ago.

In that period, Morocco scored 50 goals and conceded only four, with 12 clean sheets kept to consolidate the impressive run.

The last time the North Africans failed to win a match was during a goalless draw with Mauritania in March 2024 and they last tasted defeat in January 2024 at the hands of South Africa in the Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) round of 16.

This is a testament to the rapid development of football in Morocco, on the back of becoming the first African nation to reach the semi-final of a FIFA World Cup back in 2022 in Qatar.
