Right after the 2026 World Cup, Didier Deschamps will bring his tenure as France's head coach to an end. Yesterday, during the 2026 World Cup group stage draw, Morocco's head coach Walid Regragui seized the moment to praise the French tactician, speaking directly to Philippe Diallo, president of the French Football Federation.

"You have a fantastic coach. You'll realize it later. Well, I hope not, but honestly, you have the best." Regragui declared, in a scene reported by L'Équipe. On his side, Deschamps laughed and replied: "I swear I didn't pay him". Leading Les Bleus since 2012 and set to depart after the 2026 World Cup, Deschamps has claimed the 2018 World Cup, the 2021 Nations League, and finished runner-up at Euro 2016 and the 2022 World Cup.
