TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras The 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup continued with FC Motagua securing a 2-1 win against CA Independiente in Group C on Tuesday at Estadio José de la Paz Herrera Uclés in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

The hosts took the lead at the start of the second half, in the 55’, with Rodrigo Gómez converting from the penalty spot.

Motagua doubled its lead two minutes after in the 57’ with Maicol Cabrera striking from close range. Jorge Serrano provided the assist on the play.

Ángel Valverde shortened the deficit for CAI in the 71’, scoring with a right-footed shot from the center of the box on an assist from Marlon Ávila.

CA Independiente will host Verdes FC next Thursday as action in the Central American Cup continues, while Motagua will host CS Cartaginés.
