Jose Mourinho’s arrival at Real Madrid is only a matter of when and not if, as Florentino Perez is highly likely to retain his role as president.

Mourinho is expected to bring in many changes and alter the way the dressing room works. But one player he is truly excited to work with is Endrick, reports Fabrizio Romano.

The Brazilian forward is set to return to Valdebebas this summer following his loan spell at Olympique Lyon, and Real Madrid have already sent the player a clear message about his place in the new project.

According to Romano, Real Madrid have communicated directly with Endrick that he will be an important player next season.

It is a significant show of faith for a player who spent much of his early career at the club on the periphery of the first team, and a clear indication that Mourinho sees him as part of his core plans rather than a fringe option.

Mourinho himself is said to be looking forward to working with the 18-year-old with great anticipation, excited by the raw talent and physical profile the Brazilian brings to the attacking unit.

Endrick’s time at Olympique Lyon during the second half of the campaign proved to be a significant turning point in his development.

Regular minutes in Ligue 1 allowed him to find his feet at the senior level, build confidence and demonstrate the qualities that made Real Madrid sign him in the first place.

Before returning to Madrid, Endrick will have the opportunity to shine on the biggest stage of all.

The forward is expected to play a key role for Brazil at the upcoming World Cup in North America.
